Post Connect

Changelog

What's new in PostConnect?

New features and improvements by version – the same notes you find in the app under “What's new”. Updates arrive automatically, there is nothing to install.

  1. Version 2.4

    Latest

    8 changes

    • New help & support: guides on setup, printers, labels, customs and day-end closing are now in the help center on post-connect.com – linked directly from the app. Support, feedback and Austrian Post business customer service are shown side by side, and "Getting started" only appears while setup is incomplete. Imprint, privacy policy and terms are now on post-connect.com as well.

    • Shopify returns with a Post return label: create the return in Shopify as usual (return shipping "No shipping required"). It appears under "Returns" in "Shopify returns" – one click creates the return label for the returned items only, attaches label and tracking to the return in Shopify, and Shopify sends it to your customer. To enable this, confirm the new returns permission once the next time you open PostConnect.

    • Returns for partial shipments: "Create return" now opens the returns page with the order's shipped parcels – each with its contents, parts not shipped yet are not shown. The return only contains the items of that parcel. If there is an open Shopify return, it is preselected. The label dialog now only offers "Shipment" and "Shipment + return" (return label to include in the parcel).

    • Shipment → return → replacement at a glance: for partial shipments, returns and exchanges, orders and the PostConnect block in Shopify show one line per fulfillment, e.g. "F1 Shipped · ↩ R1 In transit · ⇄ F3 Created". Replacement items from an exchange are marked as "Replacement" in the label dialog and get their own fulfillment in Shopify.

    • Additional parcels and tracking: when creating another label for an order that has already shipped, you choose which fulfillment the parcel belongs to – the tracking number is added there and existing numbers are kept (previously status updates could overwrite other numbers of a fulfillment). The PostConnect action on the fulfillment card shows every fulfillment with its own tracking number, "Return" and "Additional parcel".

    • Labels: new "Status" filter – with "Cancelled" and "Archive all cancelled" you clean up the list in one step. When cancelling, PostConnect shows that the cancellation is in progress. Order and Shopify fulfillment are shown on one line, contents read simply "2 items", and the contents table is neatly aligned.

    • Shipping costs: the estimate uses the Austrian Post price list valid from 1 July 2026, now also for Paket Kompakt and for returns from abroad. The truck toll is added per parcel like Austrian Post does (€0.29 domestic, €0.43 international); the fuel surcharge only applies to contract prices. You now enter your own contract prices in tables in the settings – weight tiers and zones are pre-filled. The dashboard shows when labels without a price are not included.

    • Tracking page: your own tracking page now only shows your shop's shipments. If the tracking page is not included in your plan, labels and shipping emails automatically link to Austrian Post tracking instead of an unavailable page.

  2. Version 2.3

    39 changes

    • Label partial shipments selectively: in the label dialog choose "Create label now" per partial shipment – unselected ones stay open and can be labelled later. The item list shows which partial shipment each product belongs to and which quantity is sent with this label.

    • Clearer contents: tables now only show "3 items · 12 units"; open the full list with a click under "Labels" or via "Show content" in an order's menu. If you mark a fulfillment as "Delivered" in Shopify, PostConnect takes over the status.

    • Partial shipments and exchanges: you can now create a label for a partial shipment later – partial shipments that already have a label are not labelled again. After an exchange in Shopify, the new label only contains the new items (also for customs and weight). For every new label you see what it contains – in orders, under labels, in the print selection and in the PostConnect block – including the Shopify fulfillment like "#1040-F2".

    • Privacy: the automatic cleanup now also tidies up commercial invoices (PDF after the PDF period, the invoice together with the label) and deletes label creation jobs containing recipient data after 7 days. You set the periods under "Data retention".

    • Clearer customs: for goods to countries outside the EU, Austrian Post requires HS code, country of origin, value, weight and quantity for every item. The label dialog now shows before creating what is missing for which product, and you can add weight and value directly in "Edit customs data". The country of origin is no longer set to Austria automatically – please choose the country of manufacture. Also fixed: the recipient was sometimes missing when opening the dialog a second time, and the weight notice now updates immediately.

    • After creating labels, the "Print" button reliably appears again. "Print" in the PostConnect block offers a selection when there are several labels – including returns. In orders, labels, tracking and returns, small icons lead directly to the labels or the order; without a label the plus icon creates one.

    • More reliable shipment status: labels that were "Out for delivery", "Ready for pickup" or "Delivery failed" are now tracked until "Delivered", and returns show the real status from Austrian Post too. For orders with several labels you choose which ones to print, and an additional return can be created from the menu. The PostConnect block and actions in Shopify appear in your admin language.

    • Clearer orders: the "Fulfillment status" column looks like in Shopify, shipment, return and print status are shown as badges under "Labels" – one click opens the order's labels, and "In orders" on the labels page leads back. The menu now offers "Create additional label", e.g. for an extra parcel. Returns from abroad use the enabled return product (63, 66 or 04), and with "Shipment + return" the return label is printed too.

    • Orders now show in the "Labels" column what has already been created (e.g. "2 labels · 1 return") and whether it was printed – the "Not printed" filter helps you find open labels quickly. The PostConnect block in the Shopify order shows the count and print status too.

    • Additional services: enter start and end time for the preferred time window, and choose your sender address's email or phone for sender info. The list of additional services in the settings is now available in English too.

    • USA: according to Austrian Post, PDDP (duties and taxes prepaid) is mandatory for parcels with commercial goods and is now sent automatically – with Paket Plus International, up to 2,500 USD value of goods. Item values are sent in USD (Shopify USD amount or ECB daily rate). PDDP must be enabled for your account by Austrian Post.

    • Fewer rejections for shipments outside the EU: special characters in names, addresses and items (e.g. "Ł", "č", dashes, emojis) are adjusted automatically. If the sender or recipient has no phone or email, or an HS code is invalid, you see it before creating the label. Additional insurance is limited to €10,000 by Austrian Post.

    • Easier additional services: search the preferred post office, pickup station, post office pickup, PO box and direct delivery by postcode, city or name in Austrian Post's location list – no more typing BranchKeys. Preferred location offers a selection (garage, terrace …), cash on delivery uses your saved bank account and the order total.

    • Additional services the selected product doesn't allow are now greyed out instead of being dropped silently. Missing or invalid details (e.g. IBAN, UN number, location) are shown right at the field.

    • Print customs documents: set a second printer for documents in the printer settings (e.g. a laser printer). With "Create & print", labels come out of the label printer and right after that all customs documents (CN23) together from the document printer. Without a second printer, a print button appears.

    • Customs: partial shipments and returns from non-EU countries now get a complete customs declaration, and shipments to the Canary Islands, Heligoland or Livigno are recognized as requiring customs.

    • All tracking page designs have been redesigned: 50 animated scenes – from Christmas market, Oktoberfest and Easter to bakery, pharmacy and fashion all the way to gaming and eco. Visitors who have turned off animations on their device see them without motion.

    • Clearer design settings for the tracking page: choose the design first; your own brand color and page background are available under "Your colors" – now with a color picker. Your logo is centered above the shipment card.

    • New: search in orders, labels, tracking and returns – by order number, recipient, city or tracking number, also with just part of it. All entries are searched, not only the newest. Search and filters are kept when you create a label or reload the page.

    • Tracking and returns can be filtered by status. Labels, tracking and returns now page through all entries instead of only the newest 100 or 200.

    • Create & print in one step: all successfully created labels are printed as one document. If a label fails, you see which one and can reopen the affected orders right away.

    • After creating labels, the processed orders stay visible and selected – including older ones that would otherwise be further down the list. Click the ✕ next to "Selection" to see all orders again.

    • If a single label in a batch fails, the other orders still get their tracking details and – if enabled – automatic fulfillment.

    • Returns: if an order already has a shipping label, a return with the return parcel product is preselected. For a replacement delivery you can switch to "Additional shipping label". The shipping method now shows the return product that is sent to Austrian Post – including the one from your shipping rules.

    • In the Shopify order: "Print label" reprints the existing label instead of creating a new one. The PostConnect block also offers "Return / new label" and "Open PostConnect" – the order is then shown right away in the app. Labels from the Post portal or other apps can't be reprinted.

    • Multiple selection in the Shopify order list: "Show in PostConnect" opens exactly the selected orders.

    • Returns for every shipment created with PostConnect: in the "Create return" dialog you can now search all shipments by order number, recipient or tracking number – including orders older than 60 days. If an older order can't be loaded, a notice explains why and takes you straight to the return.

    • Multiple labels for different destination countries: each order starts with its default shipping method instead of "No shipping".

    • New design for your tracking page: the current status is shown large at the top in your color, followed by the progress and the tracking history grouped by day (Today, Yesterday, …). All themes have been reworked and are easier to read on mobile. For themes such as "Austrian Post" or the seasonal themes, the theme sets the color.

    • Times on the tracking page are always shown in Austrian time.

    • Pickup: scheduling and cancelling are confirmed with a short notification.

    • Print medium instead of separate settings: choose once what you print on – laser printer (A4, A5, two labels per A4) or label roll (100 × 150 or 100 × 200 mm). Label and page then always match. Please check your selection once and save it.

    • Labels on 100 × 150 mm rolls are no longer cut off at the bottom.

    • Direct printing without a print dialog: with the free QZ Tray you print labels straight to your printer. Zebra-compatible label printers can also print in ZPL – sharper and faster.

    • References on the label: choose what appears in the "REF" and "REF2" lines, e.g. the order number or your own text.

    • New: schedule a pickup by Austrian Post directly from the app and cancel it if needed.

    • Returns: return labels now have the correct direction (customer to shop) and use the right product for returns from abroad.

    • Customs: details such as MRN, EORI and VAT numbers and enclosed documents are now sent to Austrian Post. Return options now match the Post list.

    • Privacy: data retention now also deletes stored Post labels once the retention period ends.
